Paul G. Belke, age 53, of Princeton, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 20, 2022. He was born on December 11, 1968, in Ripon, WI, a son of Wayne H. and Janice (Sutrick) Belke.
Paul graduated from Princeton High School in 1987. During his high school track & field career, he won five state high school titles in the shot put and discus and was a state record holder. He was coached by his biggest fan and motivator, his dad. After high school, Paul received a full scholarship to the University of Wisconsin Madison through the Track & Field Program. He earned a degree in economics. Paul was also named captain of the UW Wisconsin Track & Field Team. Paul won the Big Ten Championship in shot put in 1992 and went on to make the finals in the 1992 Olympic Trials. Paul then continued on at the University of Wisconsin Madison to earn a law degree. After obtaining his law degree, Paul worked as an attorney for Action Law, Steffes Law, Otjen, and M&I Bank.
Paul enjoyed hunting with his dad as a young boy, snowmobiling, fishing with his track coach, and barefoot water skiing with his friends. He married Marianne Morris in 1995. They had a daughter together, Emily E. Belke. Paul was extremely proud of his daughter who is now an honors student at New York University.
Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Emily Belke of Hagerstown, MD; his mother, Janice Belke of Phoenix AZ (formerly Princeton, WI); brother, Mark Belke of Las Vegas, NV; sister, Angela Belke Dooley of Phoenix AZ; niece, Christina E. Dooley; nephew, Quentin D. Dooley; many aunts, uncles, cousins; his Godfather, Edwin Sutrick; Godmother, Judy Wagner (Belke); other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne H. Belke; his former wife, Marianne Morris.
A Memorial Mass for Paul Belke will be held on Monday, January 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W.
