Robert “Bob” Hoffman, age 93, of Ripon, formerly of Neshkoro, passed away on Thursday, April 20, 2023, at Whispering Pines Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Ripon. He was born on December 31, 1929, in Waupun, WI, a son of Joseph and Frances (Sweder) Hoffman.
Bob proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1951 to 1952. On April 22, 1952, he married Virginia Disterhaft at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton, WI. Bob worked as a custodian for Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon, retiring in 1996 after 27 years of service.
Robert was a member of the Neshkoro Lions Club and Wisconsin Deer Hunters. His many hobbies included hunting, fishing, trips to the casino and traveling out West driving through the mountains. Bob enjoyed the summer he spent with his great granddaughter Sarabeth playing cards.
Those Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 70 years, Virginia Hoffman of Ripon; his son, Dennis (Sue) Hoffman of Neshkoro; 5 grandchildren, Michelle (Troy) Steege of Montello, Malinda (Bill) Parsons of Wautoma, Jeremy (Christine) Hoffman of Neshkoro, Marabeth (Greg) King of Neshkoro, Jonathon (Julie) Hoffman of Montello; 10 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; 2 daughters-in-law, Jean Hoffman of Montello, Phyllis Hoffman of Princeton; 5 sisters-in-law, Jean Hoffman of Wisconsin Rapids, Betty Werch of Berlin, Shirley Asleson of Rush Lake, Darleen Fromolz of Waupun, Eileen Disterhaft of Neshkoro; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Frances Hoffman; 2 sons, Bob and Allan Hoffman; brother, David Hoffman; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Norbert (Frances) Disterhaft; 3 brothers-in-law; 6 sisters-in-law.
A Memorial Mass for Robert “Bob” Hoffman will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. James Catholic Church, 315 N. Main St., in Neshkoro. Father Dale Grubba will officiate the Memorial Mass. Full military honors will conclude the service. Burial will take place at a later date in the St. James Catholic Cemetery in Neshkoro.
