Robert “Bob” Michaels, age 83, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, June 11, 2020, at ThedaCare Medical Center in Berlin. He was born on June 28, 1936, in Chicago, IL, a son of Norman and Eleanor (Mandel) Michaels. Bob proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from March of 1954 to October of 1957. On September 9, 1961, he married Karen Rausch in Milwaukee, WI. Karen was the love of his life and will be his bride now and forevermore. Bob worked for and retired from the Postal Service where he was a Postal Expeditor for 39 years.
Bob was a member of the Princeton American Legion Post 366. He was involved with the Princeton Neighborhood Watch, which he ran for many years. Bob enjoyed time with his family and was proud of his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed fishing.
Those Bob leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife of 58 years, Karen Michaels; 5 children, Norman (Shannon) Michaels, Kathleen (Eric) Gulbronson, Jason (Kim) Michaels, Meredith (Scott) Villman, Christopher Michaels; 12 grandchildren, Jason R. Michaels, Kristen (Nick) Woelfel, Noah Michaels, Nylah Michaels; Allison (Josh) Noyes, Joshua Gulbronson, Chloë Gulbronson; Brittany Michaels, Aaron Michaels; Nicholas Villman, Samantha Villman; Aspen Michaels; 2 great grandsons, Crosby Noyes; Bennett Woelfel; brother, John (Karen) Kane; sister, Cynthia (Jim) Bezy; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Eleanor Michaels; brother, Richard Kane, sister, Judy Booth.
A memorial service for Robert Michaels will be held on Thursday, June 18, 2020 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, 202 South Farmer St., in Princeton. Pastor Allen Behnke will officiate. Full Military Honors will take place at the conclusion of the service.
