Ronald Seeliger, age 84, of Princeton, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021, at the Barrett House in Markesan. He was born on July 7, 1937, in the township of Green Lake, WI, a son of William and Selma (Kohl) Seeliger.
Ronald grew up in the township of Green Lake and attended the Green Lake School. He was a member of the National Guard, serving for 3 years. On November 9, 1957, he married Shirley Kanneman at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Berlin, WI. For 41 years, he worked as an electrician for Princeton Utilities.
Ronald was a firefighter for the Princeton Fire Department for 40 years. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church of Princeton. He enjoyed going “Up North” to his cabin where he loved to hunt and fish.
Ronald is survived by his 3 children, Dennis (Connie) Seeliger of Princeton, Carol (Brian) McConnell of Green Lake, James (Janell) Seeliger of Princeton; 8 grandchildren, Paul (Corinn) Seeliger, Sharon (Matt) Hahne, Mike (Caitlin) Seeliger; Nick Janssen, Morgan (fiancé, Myles Gordon) Janssen, Aaron Janssen; Savanna Seeliger, Brenden (fianceé, Hannah Roehl) Seeliger; 5 great grandchildren, Riley, Henry, Skylah, Sullivan and Wells; son-in-law, David Janssen; his faithful and loyal companion, Karan Soda; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Selma Seeliger; his wife, Shirley on March 8, 2006; daughter, Cheryl Janssen on July 28, 2020; 4 brothers, Kenneth, Dr. Melvin, Bill and Al.
A funeral service for Ronald Seeliger will be held on Monday, October 4, 2021, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 226 South Clinton St., in Princeton. Pastor John Stelter will officiate. In honoring Ronald’s wishes, the burial will be private for immediate family. Ronald will be laid to rest in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
