Sandra L. Mason

Sandra Mason, age 80, of Montello, left us and went home on November 2, 2024. She was born on January 26, 1944, in Aurora, IL, to Robert and Fern (Kivell) Walsh.

Sandy married Ronald Mason on August 11, 1962, and celebrated 62 years of marriage this year. Together they raised 2 sons, Ronald (Ann) Mason Jr., Jeff (Stephanie) Mason; daughter, Naomi (Ernie) Pulvermacher. She was a mom of 3, grandma of 8, and nana of 11. 

Sandy started quilting in 1971, and turned a necessity into a business, Quilts and Quilting of Princeton. She has made thousands of quilts over the years for family, friends, shelters, raffles, and customers. 

Her family remembers her amazing sense of humor, always looking for an adventure, many games of Yahtzee, go-cart riding, amusement park rides, sledding, most recently a fast and fun UTV ride with her great granddaughter, and that special bright red lip stick. While most grandmas and great grandmas were relaxing, Sandy would be looking for something to do and boy she found so much to do and so much fun in her life. 

Sandy loved teaching, not just quilting but other important things in our lives. For example, did you know your toes have names, Ca-Caws, and finding earths softest toilet paper just to mention a few. One of our most treasured adventures with her was her bear hunt. She was full of fun and surprises.

We all have wonderful memories of her and we would love for you to come and share yours with us. Please join us in a celebration of this wonderful lady on Saturday, July 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Emmanuel United Methodist Church, 102 West Harvard St., in Princeton.
