Sandy "Sassy" Filkins

Sandy “Sassy” Filkins, age 83, of Princeton, WI, passed away on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Neenah. She was born on November 21, 1942, in South Milwaukee, a daughter of Frank and Alice (Mansfield) Muszynski.

On September 13, 1980, Sandy married Dennis Filkins. For 37 years, she worked for Ladish Drop Forge in Cudahy, WI, as an accounting clerk and retired from the company in 1999. Sandy was a member of the 49ers Square Dance Club and was inducted into the SDAW SEA Hall of Fame in 2009. She enjoyed going on vacation and having breakfasts in Princeton with her friends.

Those Sandy leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband of 45 years, Dennis Filkins of Princeton; her son, Brett (Patty) Filkins of Racine; 3 grandchildren, Benn Filkins; Nicholas and Jamie Filkins; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Alice Muszynski; sister, Phyllis Martel.

In honoring Sandy’s wishes, she will be cremated and inurnment will take place on Saturday, April 18, 2026 at 2:00 p.m., at Forest Hill Memorial Park, 3301 East Forest Hill Ave., in Oak Creek, WI.
