Susan J. Hester

Susan J. Hester, age 68, of Green Lake, WI, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Tuesday, November 14, 2023. She was born on December 29, 1954, in Chicago, IL, a daughter of Cyril and Ethel (Johnston) Shank.

After graduating high school, Susan went on to attend Western Illinois University where she earned a degree in education. Putting her college degree to good use, she taught for many years at Northwestern Centerga Hospital in McHenry, IL. On April 9, 1988, Susan married Thomas J. Hester Jr., in Villa Park, IL. Reading books, gardening, and going on walks were things Susan enjoyed. She loved to visit with family and friends.

Those Susan leaves behind to cherish her memory are her husband of 35 years, Tom Hester Jr. of Green Lake; 2 children, Colleen Hester and Patrick Hester both of McHenry, IL; sister, Cindy (Dick) Feil of Orland Park, IL; brother, Ricky (Allison) Shank of Oak Forest, IL; she was loved by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Cyril and Ethel Shank.

A Celebration of Life for Susan Hester will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m., at the Arrowhead Golf Club, 26W151 Butterfield Road, Wheaton, IL, 60189.
