Thomas Frank Resheski, age 89, of Princeton, WI, took his final walk down to the river on Monday, November 4, 2024. Tom was born on January 23, 1935, in Princeton, WI to Stanish and Maggie (Darnick) Resheski, the youngest of eleven children. He was raised on the family farm located on the Fox River where he learned to hunt, fish and pray. He developed his love of the Catholic faith while attending St. John the Baptist Catholic School and Church where he was a member his entire life. Tom was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.
Tom graduated from Princeton High School in 1952. He served in the US Army in Berlin, Germany, from 1954-56. Tom met his lifetime love, Shirley Monahan, in Oshkosh, WI and they married on December 29, 1956. Together they raised three daughters, Kim, Kathy and Judy in Princeton. He shared his love of the outdoors with his girls and was always generous with his “I love yous.” He was the absolute best dad!
Tom worked at Speed Queen Laundry in Ripon for 42 years. He was an avid fisherman, golfer, bowler and card player. Throughout his life, Tom served in many capacities at the American Legion Post in Princeton. After retirement, he and Shirley wintered in both California and Arizona. They also enjoyed many trips together in and out of the country.
Tom was a beloved Grandpa and Great Grandpa to his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He was very proud of them all.
Thomas is survived by his wife, Shirley; his daughters, Kim (Warren) Resheski-Wedepohl, Kathryn (Bill) Munsey, Judy (Jon) Urben; grandchildren, Carrie (Eric) Zielinski, Grant (Ali) Wedepohl, Marie (Andy) Wedepohl; Amanda (Jermaine) Munsey, Nathan (Kaity) Munsey; Maggie (Dave) Mineau, Thomas Urben; great-grandchildren, Tyler Davies, Gianna Zielinski; Mia Wedepohl; and Stella Munsey. He is also survived by sisters-in-law, Phyllis Davis, Darlene (Gibby) Krentz, Audrey Resheske and Joanne Resheski; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and 10 siblings; Dorothy Rogers, Stephen Resheski, Ralph Resheske, Jeanette Mashuda, Dominic Resheski, Esther Edgerley, Regina Zick, David Resheski, Theresa Resheski and Delores Walker.
A Mass of Christian Burial for Tom will be held on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 West Main Street, Princeton, WI. Msgr. James L. Gunn will officiate. Tom will be laid to rest following the Mass in St. John’s Catholic Cemetery in Princeton.
