Van “Taco” Sauerbreit, age 57, of Princeton, WI, passed away peacefully at his home on Tuesday, October 11, 2022. He was born on January 29, 1965, in Neenah WI, a son of Alden and Grace (Vander Velden) Sauerbreit.
Van graduated from Princeton High School in 1983. For 28 years, he worked as an assembler for Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon. Taco also worked as a bartender for various businesses throughout the area. He enjoyed bowling, golf, basketball, darts, fishing, hunting and was an avid Wisconsin sports fan. Winning the Barn A Dome Basketball Tournament 25 years ago was something he was very proud of. Taco showed he loved people and his family with his big heart.
Those Van leaves behind to cherish his memory include his 5 siblings, Karen March of New London, WI, Vonnie (Bob) Wendt of Menasha, WI, Val (Steve) Jenkel of Appleton, WI, Kurt (Mary Lou) Sauerbreit of Princeton, WI, Kim (Chris) Salbego of Princeton, WI; 11 nieces and nephews, Lisa Paulowski, Tori Pawlowski, Bob Wendt Jr., Craig Sommers, Dax Jenkel, Heather Jazwiecki, Holly Sauerbreit, John Salbego, Leslie Marten, Andrea Salbego, Jake Salbego; 14 grandnieces and nephews; special friends, Dave Schlaefer and John Lohry; many other relatives and good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Grace Sauerbreit.
A celebration of life for Van “Taco” Sauerbreit will be held on Monday, October 17, 2022, from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., at the Wachholz and Sons Funeral Home, 303 Harvard St., in Princeton. The family requests that you please wear your sports gear in honor of Taco. Van will be laid to rest at 10:00 a.m., on Tuesday, October 18, 2022, in the Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton. Rev.
