Violet A. Bednarek, age 92, of Neshkoro, WI, formerly of Fond du Lac, WI, passed away at home on Friday, March 3, 2023. She was born on September 11, 1930, in Neshkoro, a daughter of Joseph D. and Rose M. (Fromholtz) Bednarek.
In 1947, Violet graduated from Princeton High School. Furthering her education, she attended St. Agnes School of Nursing in Fond du Lac, where she earned her nursing degree. After graduating from nursing school, Violet worked as a registered nurse at St. Agnes Hospital for a short time. She then worked for Dr. Hutter in Fond du Lac for many years. After Dr. Hutter retired, Violet went to work at the Lutheran Home in Fond du Lac until she retired from nursing.
Violet was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church of Princeton. She enjoyed crocheting, doing word search puzzles, playing card and dice games, bingo, and picking wild raspberries.
Those Violet leaves behind to cherish her memory include her 5 nieces, Patricia (Glenn) Troost of Montello, Mary R. (Ken) Disterhaft of Princeton, Janemarie Vining of Neshkoro, Charlene (Steve) Scamihorn of Rockford, IL, Cindy Gozinski of Berlin; nephew, Gerard “Peter” (Vicki) Vining of Alder, MT; 2 great-nieces, AnneKathryn Troost of Fond du Lac, Jessica (Brian) Laisure of Junction City, OR; 2 great-nephews, Cody (Cass) Disterhaft of Appleton, Joseph (Jen) Gozinski of Berlin; great-great niece, Genarosa Pileggi of Junction City, OR; 2 great-great nephews, Jordan Troost-Boyrington and Connor Troost-Boyrington of Fond du Lac; special friends, Lisa and Riley Ellis; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rose Bednarek; brother, Chester Bednarek; 4 sisters, Angeline Bednarek, Marie (Wes) Rinehart, Alice (Verle) Vining, Betty Bednarek; 2 nephews, James and Terry Vining; 2 great-nephews, Joshuah Vining, Nathan Disterhaft.
A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Princeton on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. Violet will be laid to rest following the Mass in St. James Catholic Cemetery in Neshkoro. Father Dale Grubba will officiate.
