William “Bill” Zeman, age 88, of Neshkoro, passed away on Monday, October 19, 2020, at Gabriel’s Villa in Oshkosh. He was born on March 25, 1932, in West Allis, WI, a son of William and Louise (Engle) Zeman.
Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On June 13, 1953, he married Frances Ann Budich at St. Martini’s Lutheran Church in Milwaukee. They shared 54 years of married life together before her passing on March 21, 2008. Bill was a small engine mechanic at Briggs and Stratton in Milwaukee where he worked for 31 years before retiring on June 30, 1990.
Before his wife’s passing, Bill and Frances enjoyed playing golf, being out in the sun relaxing with family and friends enjoying a beer, working out in their yard, going on bus trips, traveling and spending the winter months in Arizona. They loved the time spent with their grandchildren and living on Cedar Springs Lake of Neshkoro for 25 years. Bill also enjoyed a good game of horseshoes. We will always remember him as a kind, loving, caring man and father.
Those Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory include his 4 daughters, Janel (Gregory) Willms of Grand Marsh, Dawne (Michael) Gauer of Waupaca, Stephanie (David) Schwabe Jr. of Neshkoro, Lisa L. Zeman of Mayville; 8 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Louise Zeman; his wife, Frances Ann Zeman; brother, Robert Zeman.
A funeral service for William “Bill” Zeman will be held on Tuesday, October 27, 2020, at 12:00 p.m., with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m., at Zion Lutheran Church, 227 North State St., in Neshkoro. Pastor John Bumgardner will officiate. Bill will be laid to rest at Forest Home Cemetery in Milwaukee.
Bill’s daughters would like to thank all the ladies at Gabriel’s Villa. We are truly grateful for the extraordinary care given to our father. You brightened up his days and he showed you his appreciation with his beautiful smile.
