William “Bill” Edward Teausaw, age 80, of Princeton, WI, passed away at home on Sunday, January 16, 2022, surrounded by his family. He was born on June 9, 1941, in Aurora, IL.
Bill graduated in 1959 from East Aurora High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy from 1959-1965. He went on to work at the former Commonwealth Edison Company in the Chicago area as an engineer, working for the company from 1966 to 1996. On January 28, 1967, Bill married Jean Pagel in Aurora, IL. Bill enjoyed photography and had also worked as a photographer for Dick Schreul Photography in Aurora.
While living in Illinois, Bill ushered at Cross Lutheran Church in Yorkville, the church he attended for 45 years. He was involved in the Third Ward Club in Aurora, American Legion Post 489 in Yorkville, Barber Greene Hunting and Fishing Club and an avid softball player and golfer. When Bill and Jean moved to Princeton, WI, they joined Calvary Lutheran Church.
Those Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory include his wife, Jean Teausaw; his 4 children, Christy Ahmed, Phillip (Sheila) Teausaw, Aimee (Lt. Col. Martin) Hemmingsen, Luke Teausaw; 12 grandchildren, Caleb and Gabe Ahmed; Petty Officer Isaac Teausaw, Matt, Oli and P.J. Teausaw; Mitchell, Nolan, Tara, Kaley, Calvin and Evie Hemmingsen; 1 beloved great granddaughter, Adalyn Teausaw; 3 siblings, Judy Grodi, Don Hiemenz, Mary (Lowell) Williams; sister-in-law, Marilyn Hiemenz; sister-in-law, Sharon Pagel; many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Bernice (Hiemenz) Teausaw; his special uncle and aunt who raised him, Mil and Val Hiemenz; sister, Bette (Walt) Dabney; brother, Jack Hiemenz; sister-in-law, Marylou Hiemenz; brother-in-law, John Pagel; nephew, Donald Hiemenz.
A memorial service for William Teausaw will be held on Friday, January 21, 2022, at 10:00 a.m., at Calvary Lutheran Church, 202 S. Farmer St., in Princeton. Pastor Robert Busse will officiate.
There will also be a memorial service held on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 11:00 a.m., at the Cross Lutheran Church, 8609 S. Route 47 in Yorkville, IL. Pastor Eric Gauss will officiate. William will be laid to rest following the service in the Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Yorkville.
