Mary (Mlodzik) Redding, age 66, of West End, NC, passed from this earth January 28, 2017, at University Hospital in Madison, WI. Ms. Redding was born August 12, 1950, in Berlin, WI, the second of 13 children to parents, Mark and Marjorie (Thomas) Mlodzik. She graduated from Princeton High School and attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout. In 1971, she married David Redding. Together they joined the Peace Corps, where they worked in South Korea. They lived in Washington, D.C., and North Carolina.
Mary was the owner and interior designer of Southern Pines Fabrics in North Carolina. An accomplished seamstress, she loved creating costumes for The Little Theater. She most recently worked for Panera Bread Company for 10 years in the Southern Pines area.
Ms. Redding is survived by her children, Major Sam (Dana) Redding of Omaha, NE, Miriam Redding of Brisbane, Australia, Elizabeth (Victor) Hill of La Crosse, WI; 6 grandchildren; mother, Marjorie Mlodzik of Princeton, WI; siblings, Harold, Roger, Linda Ruhl, Frances Krause, Steve, Matthew, Phillip, Sarah Naparalla, Felix, and Russell. She was preceded in death by her father, Mark Mlodzik; sister, Caroline Benson; brother, Tommy; granddaughter, Kaitlyn Hill.
A Memorial Mass will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m., at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 1211 W. Main St., in Princeton. Father Dale Grubba will conduct the service. At the conclusion of the service a luncheon will follow.
